Coordinates of the Marshal islands diaspora in sound and image

Rearranged sonic and visual geographies map the collaborative exchanges pursued by media artist Connie Samaras, physical computing artist Grace Grothaus, musicologist Jessica Schwartz, and oceanographer Stuart Sandin. The design of linked sound and image installations takes the coordinates of the Marshall Islands diaspora as its starting point to consider the embodied experience of living with endangered coral as bedrock and as post-migration memory, and foregrounds the experience of coping with transgenerational nuclear radiation impacts in a time of catastrophic sea rise and reef decimation.
